This is a six-week class that builds on the foundational skills learned and continues to enhance the bond between you and your dog. The focus of the class is on developing your dog’s ability to focus — on both you and the task at hand. During this class the handler/dog team will work on the ability to heel, sit stay, down stay, come, and be introduced to the skills involved in more formal obedience work.
Prerequisite: Household Manners Class or the approval of the class instructor.
This is a four-week class that focuses on building the team skills of the handler and dog. The focus of this class is on refining on-leash heeling and introduces skills used in competitive obedience: front, finish, recall, stand commands and distance work.
Prerequisite: Beginners Obedience or the approval of the class instructor.
This class focuses on training the handler and dog the skills needed to compete in AKC Novice, Open, and UKC Open classes. Students will continue to work on their off leash heeling, dumbbell retrieval, drop on recall, send over the broad jump and retrieve over the high jump.
Prerequisite: Advance Beginners class or approval of the class instructor.
